| |
| Q: What
age group is the KiwiBike designed
for? |
| A: The
KiwiBike is designed for toddlers
and children age 2 - 5 years. The seat is height adjustable (13"
at the lowest setting, 17" at the highest), providing the opportunity
for years of fun! This bike is much more than just a tool to learn
how to ride a regular bike - it is very small (33"
long, the handle bar is 21" high) and can therefore be ridden
by much younger children. |
|
Q: What are the educational benefits? |
| A: The
KiwiBike does more than just teach
a child how to ride a bike: it is an educational toy! It can improve
your child's gross motor skills and sense of balance. In addition
to that, the achievement of learning how to ride this unique childrens
bike will give your child a boost in self confidence! |
|
Q: Why is the KiwiBike
better than an ordinary kids bike with training wheels? |
| A: First,
your child can start riding a KiwiBike
at a much earlier age than a regular bike, and studies by child
development specialists have shown that there is a link between
academic success and finding your sense of balance at an early age
- and the KiwiBike will help your
child to find his/her balance very easy. The KiwiBike
is also a much safer option: no spoked wheels or chains to catch
little fingers. Training wheels are in fact counterproductive: when
the bike leans to one side and rests on one of the training wheels,
your child has to counterbalance - which will make the transition
to a "big" bike more difficult. |
| |
| Q: Is
the KiwiBike practical? |
|
A: The
KiwiBike will not only provide hours
of fun for your little one, it will also make your life easier!
The slim design of this unique bike for kids makes it much easier
to bring along than a bike with training wheels or a bulky tricycle.
It also enables your child to keep up with your pace when you go
for a walk in the park. |
| |
| Q: Where
does the KiwiBike come from? |
A: All wooden parts on this bike are proudly
handcrafted in New Zealand (hence the "Kiwi"Bike).
|
| |
| Q: What
materials are used for the KiwiBike? |
| A: We are only using carefully
selected materials to ensure the highest quality. The frame, steering
column and bar and wheel disks are handcrafted from high quality plywood.
The screws are made from solid brass and are rust free. The padded
seat is made from polyester or cotton and is removable and washable. |
| |
| Q: What assembly/maintenance
is necessary? |
| A: The KiwiBike
comes almost completly assembled to your house. All that is left to
do, is the mounting of the handlebar, which is as easy as one, two,
three. We recommend to regularly ensure that all screws are fastly
tightened. Other than that, this kids bike is totally maintenance
free! |
| |
| Q: Can I get spare parts for
my KiwiBike? |
| A: Yes. We can deliver all
parts individually. |
| |
| Q: Why doesn't the KiwiBike
have a brake? |
| A: Your child brakes by using
his/her feet. This is much easier and more intuitive than using a
mechanic brake. No fumbling for the brake lever, simply put the feet
down and the bike will stop. Please note that children should always
wear close toed shoes while using the KiwiBike. |
| |
| Q: Does
the KiwiBike have pedals? |
| A: Pedals
are not necessary. The concept of a walking bike is actually very
old, the very first bicycles were wooden and didn't have pedals
either! |
| |
| Q: How heavy is the KiwiBike? |
| A: It weighs only about 8 pounds.
Its slim design and light weight make it very easy to handle for your
child as well as for parents and caregivers. It hardly takes up any
space in the trunk of your car and you can easily pick it up when
necessary. |
